Alternatively, I changed the power plan to 'high performance' last night, and my Bluetooth mouse and keyboard worked fine. Until this morning.
Between then and now, I put my HP Envy 14' Touchsmart to sleep, and I think that interfered with the Bluetooth adapter. I am fully convinced that it is either a Win8 power setting or an HP power setting causing this problem, but I don't know where to go in any of my settings to fix it. Any help is appreciated.
